I received this laptop a week ago from Amazon. After researching for a
very long time, I decided to invest my money in it because of the specs
and the price. I am a 3d digital artist and planned for the laptop to
be my desktop replacement so I can work anywhere I like because this
kind of work can have you sitting behind the computer for days...
Installed all my programs: Maya, Nuke, ZBrush, etc. So far, it has outperformed my desktop (Intel Core 2 Quad 2.66GHz, 8GB RAM)! I am very happy with it and enjoy everything about it from the 1080p display, the matte black surface, great sound, quietness, light weight, USB 3.0, great design, and cool temperatures. I even had my friend install WOW to put it to the test. He put the settings on ULTRA and was getting an average of 45FPS in Dalaran and at least 60FPS everywhere else. He was impressed.
If I had to say there was a con, it would be a few things. It's hard to find a nice laptop bag or sleeve that would fit this machine. Although, I did find one from Fry's Electronics eventually. I wish it's multi-touch touchpad would've been able to function like that of a Macbook's. I installed a multi-touch driver, which allowed for 2 finger scrolling, but only left-right and up-down. You can't grab and move in any direction you please... Lastly, I was curious about the 16GB RAM upgradeable thing, and I guess one of the reviewers on here confirmed it, the laptop cannot be upgraded pass 8GB. It would've been awesome to do so, many of the programs I run would've benefited from it, but I am still very happy with my purchase.
